HB 148 Public employee insurance coverage sponsored by Rep. Bill O’Neill. This bill would require the insurance plan for state and public school employees to cover services needed by children with autism. This bill has not received a “message” from the governor and is not expected to move forward in this session. However, there may be a memorial requesting a study of the costs and benefits of providing such coverage. |
In the House Rules & Order of Business Committee, will be heard on Monday February 6th, 9am, room 309 in the RoundHouse. |
Please contact members of the House Rules Committee, either by email or phone or both before Monday. Ask them to "Vote to pass HB 148 in House Rules Committee."

SM 20 and HM 44 Autism state plan. Sen. Jerry Ortiz y Pino and Rep. Ed Sandoval. This memorial calls for the state to develop a comprehensive plan that addresses the need for access to evaluations as well as a wide variety of services and benefits for children and adults with autism. |
SM 20 is awaiting being put on the agenda in Senate Rules Committee. HM 44 is going to be in the House Appropriations and Finance Committee on Tuesday, February 7th, 1:30 pm, room 307. |
If you can come to the committee meeting to stand in favor of HB 44, please join us! And, please call or email the members of the HAFC and ask them to "pass HM 44 in the House Appropriations and Finance Committee." This is a good time to briefly explain why NM needs a statewide plan to address gaps in our systems of service for people with autism.
